Why Merus?
Merus was founded on a simple idea. Patients come first. Too many patients come to us after experiences elsewhere, symptoms treated in isolation, long waits with little explanation. Dr. Sumana Moole founded Merus Gastroenterology & Gut Health to be different.

Highly motivated and patient-centered US trained gastroenterologist with a strong background in advanced clinical training, research, and teaching.
Skilled in endoscopic procedures and multidisciplinary care with an aim to foster long-term health outcomes with patient satisfaction.
Physician Assistant, Gastroenterology
Paula Woll, PA-C
Fluent in Spanish, Paula worked as a medical assistant at Bay Pointe Dermatology in Florida before returning to school for her physician assistant degree.
She holds certifications in basic and advanced cardiac life support and is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) and the Georgia Association of Physician Assistants (GAPA). Paula joined Atlanta Gastroenterology Associates in 2024.

Founder & Lead Physician
Sumana Moole, MD
Founder & Lead physician at Merus Gastroenterology & Gut Health. She is board certified in Gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM), with 17+ years in medicine and 12+ years specializing in digestive health.
Dr. Moole trained in internal medicine at Wayne State University and Detroit Receiving Hospital, and has spent her career combining clinical excellence with a deep commitment to patient empowerment.
